SHORT DESCRIPTION

Background

The State Administration of Tourism of the Ukraine, The Ministry of Economics and Labour Germany, The Baden-Württemberg International Projects Agency conducted within the framework of the Institution Building Partnership Programme (IBPP) EU TACIS - a TWINNING project to create a tourist information centres network structure in the Ukraine. And to professionalise the service quality of these tourist information centres.

Project Aim

The overall aims of the EU project is to create a network of tourist information centres in collaboration with the private and public sector and to establish pilot tourist information offices in selected regions. Therefore, quality and service standards should be developed and disseminated through the training of key stakeholders and multipliers.

Services Provided

AGEG Consultants carried out the following measures:

  • Conception, organization and implementation of various tailored modular training programmes for selected national educational institutions
  • Capacity-building workshops for representatives of the education sector (universities, institutes and governmental bodies) about the TIC structure in Germany
  • SWOT analysis of the current tourism education system
  • Development of a ‘train the trainer’ curricula on destination management, quality management and systems, marketing and product development, management conception and structure of TICs
  • Theoretical and practical training for key stakeholders of the educational sector of the Ukraine (study visits)
